Our Story
I became a mom a little later in life, and with that came all the overthinking you’d expect—from balanced nutrition to sleep schedules to choosing the right bedtime books and, yes, potty training. My husband and I have one son, so there was no prior parenting experience to lean on. Every decision felt big. Every little success felt like a huge win.
When the time came to start potty training, I was excited (mainly at the idea of not having to change dirty diapers anymore)—but also, if I’m being honest, completely overwhelmed. My son had just turned three, and not only did I feel like we were starting late, but I had no idea where to begin.
On top of that, as someone who’s a bit of a compulsive cleaner (and I’m not saying that’s a good thing—especially with young kids), the idea of scrubbing out a dirty potty bowl in the sink or bathtub made me cringe. I had no idea potty liners even existed until a friend mentioned them to me!
We gave bag-style liners a try, but they never quite worked for us. The bags were too large for the potty bowl, difficult to install, and tossing them—waste and all!—into the trash just didn’t sit right with me. As we navigated sticker charts and “do you need to go?” reminders on loop, I kept thinking—there has to be a better way to make cleanup easier and less stressful.
That’s what inspired my husband and I to launch Clever Baboon Potty Liners—a snug-fit, no-fuss solution to keep the potty clean without adding more to your already full plate. It was a game changer in our home, and I hope it helps in yours too.
Along the way, we tested quite a few different potties. Some were great, some… not so much. These reviews are my honest take—what worked, what didn’t, and what made life just a little easier during a very messy season.
Whether you're just getting started or in the thick of the process, you’re not alone. I hope this page helps you find the right fit—and keeps your bathroom a little cleaner and your mind a bit more at ease along the way.
